Prof. Tim Murithi heads the Justice and Peacebuilding Program at the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation in Cape Town, South Africa. He is also Extraordinary Professor of African Studies, at the Centre for African Studies, University of Free State, South Africa. He has over 20 years of experience in the fields of peacebuilding, governance, international justice and security in Africa and has held posts at the Department of Peace Studies, University of Bradford, the United Kingdom; Institute for Security Studies, in Addis Ababa; and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), in Geneva, Switzerland. He has also served as an Adviser to the African Union and UNDP.
