Dzikimai Bere

Dzikimai Bere is the Programme Coodinator for the Zimbabwe Human Rights Forum in Harare, Zimbabwe. He provides strategic leadership on the design and implementation of the Forum’s human rights interventions in Zimbabwe and beyond. Over the past eight years, Dzikamai work involves strengthening human rights resolve, promotion of human security and rehabilitation of victims of past violations for Zimbabwe. He does this through building linkages and networks of collaboration among stakeholders in the human rights and transitonal justice sector. His past projects have been a campaign to establish the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC) in Zimbabwe and advocacy for competent commissioners to discharge the mandate given by section 251 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe. He has led the efforts of the Transitional Justice Working Group (NTJWG) in working with the Parliament of Zimbabwe in coming up with a good NPRC law for Zimbabwe, a law that meets both the expectations of the people of Zimbabwe as well as the minimum international standards. Dzikamai occasionally publishes in weekly newspapers, where he reflects on his experiences in leadership transformation and building sustainable peace in Zimbabwe. He holds a Master’s Degree in Advanced Study in the field of Peace and Conflict Transformation from the Universität Basel.
